EVO NXT • 18 February 2025

Hybrid discussion with experts from Tobacco Europe centres on EU regulations

The EVO NXT business festival attracts the entire Next Generation Products (NGP) industry to the Italian lifestyle metropolis of Milan on April 3 and 4. What makes the event so special is the unique mix of trade show, festival and knowledge forum, of product presentation, entertainment and information. As the exhibition area fills up, so does the schedule for the supporting programme. Numerous renowned speakers will talk about the prospects for the future of the industry in panels, master classes and key notes, giving attendees a valuable advantage for their own business. On April 4, Messe Dortmund invites you to a special discussion: a hybrid event.

Dortmund, 18 February 2025 – This exciting event is being organised together with Tobacco Europe, the European umbrella organisation for manufacturers of tobacco and nicotine products. The organisation represents the three largest companies based in Europe, including British American Tobacco (BAT), Imperial Brands (IMB) and Japan Tobacco International (JTI). Its mission is to to support responsible EU policymaking, in advancing balanced and science-based regulation for tobacco and nicotine products. Tobacco Europe members stand committed to reducing the health impact of smoking in Europe.

Update on key developments in Brussels

Tobacco Europe and its members are legitimate, transparent and accountable stakeholders in European regulatory debates. For EVO NXT, this means that the organisation is a strong partner that is very close to the political events in Brussels. ‘Eyes on Brussels’ is therefore the title of the hybrid event on 4 April at 12:00 hrs. The concept: an interactive discussion with participants on site, but also online via live stream. The topic: a current update on the latest key policy developments in Brussels and across the EU and their impact on the tobacco and nicotine industry. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how the latest updates from Brussels and the wider European landscape may influence the industry and engage in a discussion on what’s next for stakeholders.

Tobacco Europe's Secretary General Nathalie Darge and Filip Haugland, EU Affairs Director, will be on site as speakers. Public Affairs Manager Alix Carlier will be joining them online.

This opportunity at EVO NXT is an exclusive one: ‘Eyes on Brussels’ normally is a platform provided by Tobacco Europe for selected stakeholders from the industry. For around two years now participants have been able to benefit from this monthly live discussion. For the first time now at EVO NXT this platform is opening up to the visitors of the trade show.

EVO NXT will also offer more opportunities to dive deeper into the topic of EU regulations in the supporting programme. For example, there will be a presentation on ‘Outlook on the EU and Key Global Markets: Analysis of Market and Regulatory Developments in Alternative Tobacco Products’. Lorenzo Guaragna, Head of Market Analysis at TobaccoIntelligence, and Julián Bobadilla Moncaleano, Head of Legal Analysis at TobaccoIntelligence, have been announced as speakers. And John Dunne, Director General of the UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA), Umberto Roccatti, Vice President of the Independent European Vaping Alliance (IEVA), and other experts will take part in a panel discussion entitled ‘Navigating the ever-changing global regulatory landscape’.
